During a study on fauna of the frit flies (Diptera: Chloropidae) in Khorasan Razavi province (Iran) in ۲۰۱۴ and ۲۰۱۵, nine species of six genera were collected and identified. Platycephala rugosa (Nartshuk, ۱۹۶۴) is recorded for the first time for Iranian fauna. Geographical distribution and biological notes are provided.
