Abstract:
Reducing waste in healthcare system and improving its efficiency is a global challenge. The Lean concept has emerged in recent years as a way of introducing innovative ideas toimprove processes. Lean for healthcare is a continuous improvement structure, adapted from the Toyota ProductionSystem (TPS), which provides a way for healthcare organization to manage the required change. New technologies for the management of patients, personnel, and inventory promise tostreamline the efficiency and effectiveness of hospital functions. One of them is RFID technology which by its traceability andreal-time information can help to reduce errors and remove nonvalue added steps in healthcare. The purpose of this study is to systematically understand how healthcare's can use RFID benefits to optimize their process and create value added to become Lean. We will categorize RFID major advantages andhealthcare Lean scopes that can improve by RFID benefits and then we will examine the relationship between them. This paper ends with our research limitations and future research
