Todays, increasing rate of competition and unexpectable changes in the business world, make the organizations to be as much as agile, to exploit the best opportunities in getting their organizational goals and success. This capability helps them to explore, adapt and retort to the unanticipated changes in order to get the better place in the competitive market by improving the cycle time for managerial actions as rapidly as possible. This research work examines the use of information technology( including process, knowledge and communication technologies) in enhancing the agility in organizations, and the effect of it on the four main factors of agility. Furthermore, the role of IT(information technology) in Iranian organizations is empirically tested by a questionnaire distributed among the managers of these agile organizations. The findings show that IT has become critical to the success of organizations and make the firms more agile.
