Abstract:

Liquid-Liquid extraction is one of the classical methods in separation technology and finds applications in the chemical and petroleum industry, hydrometallurgy,biotechnology, nuclear technology, waste management, and other areas. Pulsed sieveplate extraction column is one of the most important equipment for liquid-liquid extraction.Prediction of dispersed phase holdup is of fundamental importance in the design and operation of liquid pulsed column. The Fuzzy Inference Systems (FISs) has been recently recognized to be a very powerful tool for analysis of hydrodynamiccharacteristicsof pulsed sieve-plate extraction columns. In the present study the performance of different types of fuzzy inference models and previous works are compared. The result show that Adaptive network-based fuzzy inference systems (Anfis) with 13.855 average percent error (APE) will have better performance than the previous works, sugeno and mamdani models
