Abstract:
The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between EFL learners’ emotional intelligence, and their use of learning styles and strategies. One hundred and twenty Iranian EFL learners participated in the study. They completed three Likert-scale questionnaires consist of: the Emotional Quotient Inventory, the Learning Style Questionnaire, and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning. The Pearson correlation analyses result showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between learning styles and foreign language achievement; however, the findings revealed foreign language achievement was significantly related to both emotional intelligence and language learning strategy use. Also, the multiple regression analysis showed that the strategy used by the participant was a stronger predictor of foreign language achievement
