Background: Disturbances in fluid and electrolytes are among the most common clinical problems encountered in the intensive care unit (ICU). Recent studies have reported that fluid and electrolyte imbalances are associated with increased morbidity and mortality among critically ill patients. Objectives: To monitor patients’ intake/output of fluid and electrolyte alterations for post-operatively throughout ICU stay. Methods: Quantitative prospective follow-up study design was adopted to conduct and accomplishment the research objectives, which are based to complete the requirements of research establishment, research process implementation depends on the use of tools that contains of two parts: general health characteristics, and a holistic systematic approach; that consists information which contributes in assessment of health status, measuring  parameters that deal with fluid and electrolyte imbalance, a period from ۱st of November ۲۰۲۲ until ۱۳ July ۲۰۲۳. Results: The general description of surgical history duration of surgery revel ۵۵.۶% for patient sample take ۱-۳hr; by reviewing the type of complication post anesthesia the majority ۵۵.۶% were complain of apnea; next ۳۷.۷% of surgical operation were laparotomy intervention by other hand ۹۵.۶% were major rather ۴.۴% were minor according to type of surgery. Conclusion: Fluid and electrolyte is a major problem in post-operative patients specially those admission to ICU. Most common fluid and electrolyte complication in ICU patients either hypertension or hypotension with deterioration of overall health status.
