Medical vocabulary is an essential component of learning medical English, but it can oftenbe intimidating and challenging for medical students. The teaching and learning of medicalterminology are significant hurdle for many students, as they struggle with thepronunciation, spelling, and understanding of complex and unfamiliar terms.Unfortunately, the importance of word elements in medical vocabulary is often neglectedin English for Medical Students (EMS) classrooms and teaching materials. In this article,we will explore the significance of medical vocabulary for medical students and providestrategies and approaches to help students overcome the difficulties they may encounter.By understanding the elements of medical vocabulary, including roots, prefixes, andsuffixes, students can break down and comprehend medical words more effectively.
