The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers has access to a wealth of technical knowledge and experience with its members operating around theworld in many different terrains. We collate and distil this valuable knowledge for the industry to use as guidelines for good practice by individual members. Our overall aim is to ensure a consistent approach to training, management and best practice throughout the world. Theoil and gas exploration and production industryrecognizes the need to develop consistent databases and records in certain fields. The OGP’s members are encouraged to use the guidelines as a starting point for their operations or to supplement their own policies and regulations which may apply locally. The results of the risk assessment should help determine the prevention, control and mitigation measures required. The level of risk may indicate the amount of time and effort to be spent in later phases to provide assurance that controls are in place to reduce the risks to a level as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). The risks can each be assessed in accordance with a process based on OGP’s Report No.210, Guidelines for the development and application of health, safety and environmental management systems
