Abstract:

In this paper the effect of using lateral reinforcing Arch Trusses (A 1) in the seismic behavior of a steel single-layer barrel vault structure of Lamella type has been studied. The designed barrel vaults have been analyzed and checked subjected to seismic loads by using equivalent static, spectral and TimeHistory Analysis (THA) methods. Numerical results, particularly those obtained by THA, show that using the A Ts generally leads to some changes in the stress ratios, which are sometimes increase and sometimes decrease. However, in all cases using the A Ts significantly decreases the lateraldeformation of the structure, and therefore, improves its seismic behavior with regard to the nonstructural elements and facilities installed in the structure ..
