خلاصه مقاله:
Background and Objective: Simultaneous exposure to noise and nano-materials such as Silver Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are an indispensable part of today’s industries. This study aimed to investigated the co-exposure to silver nanoparticles and noise effects on rats’ liver tissue.Materials and Methods: Twenty-four male albino Wistar rats were randomly distributed into four experimental groups of six and received to ۴۰ saline (IP), Ag-NPs (۱۰۰ mg/kg, ۵ d/w for ۲۸ days), ۸ kHz narrowband noise (۱۰۴ dB SPL, ۶ hrs/day, ۵ d/w for ۴ weeks) and Ag-NPs plus noise. Following cessation of treatments, The ALP, ALT, AST, MDA, GPX and, TOACT activity levels in blood and changes in rats’ body weight were assessed. In addition, possible histological changes in liver were studied after hematoxylin-eosin staining.Findings: The findings reported that the Ag-NPs administration and exposure to noise elevated (P < ۰.۰۱) ALP, ALT, AST and MDA levels in rat serum and tissues. In contrast, the mean serum levels of GPX and TOACT in all of the groups decreased significantly relative to the control group (P < ۰.۰۰۰۱). The body weight change in all groups, except for Ag-NPs plus noise group, significantly increased. Also, hepatic necrosis of the liver tissue and cellular congestion as nuclear swelling, vacuole formation, hemorrhage and necrosis were observed. Conclusions: This study revealed that the combined exposure of noise and Ag-NPs administration to Wistar rats altered some biochemical parameters and increase liver tissue necrosis and cellular damaging as well. Since simultaneous exposure to noise and Ag-NPs has an additive effect in this regard, further studies are necessary to be carried out on the effects of noise and nano-materials co-exposure.
