Based on the herbarium studies and field observations, the genus Calligonum L. in Iran has been revised. In this paper, a brief revision of the genus in Iran is presented. Altogether, ۲۳ species are known from Iran. A key to the species, a new species namely C. alatosetosum Maassoumi & Kazempour, short diagnose and or taxonomic discussions have been prepared. Among the cited species C. molle Litw. is a doubtful record to Iran. Former record of C. tetrapterum  Jaub. & Spachfrom Iran is not improved.
