خلاصه مقاله:
Introduction: Lymphedema is a chronic disease caused by insufficient lymph transport capacity that can lead to several complications and disabilities.Conservative lymphedema therapy is the most important treatment in lymphedema rehabilitation. This aims to reintegrate patients into their social environment, obtain psychological stabilization, and improve their quality of life. The goal of this study was to review various treatment options in geriatrics.Materials and Methods: The core set was developed through (۱) literature review, (۲) assessment of already used treatments, and (۳) discussions with experts to reach consensus. Results: Patients can be trained in complete decongestive therapy (CDT), which includes manual lymph drainage, compression bandages, and decongestion movement therapy. They also require lifestyle changes, psychological self-help techniques, and nutritional counseling. In some patients, special techniques such as LymphaTouch, low-level laser therapy, and reconstructive surgery may be required. Conclusions: Lymphatic rehabilitation in elderly patients is an interdisciplinary approach. It is important to optimize the treatments according to individual characteristics to improve the quality of life.
