The aim of this study was examining relationship of mental health and defended mechanism in adoptive behavior among male high school students. The present study had a statistical population constituting of all male senior high school students in Nook Abad who were ۳۲۰ students in academic year ۲۰۱۷-۲۰۱۸. A random sampling method was applied and ۱۷۴ questionnaires were distributed among the students. To collect data, General Health Questionnaire, Andrews Defense styles questionnaire (۱۹۹۳) and Rubio adoptive behavior (۲۰۰۷) were used. The results of the Pearson correlation coefficient indicated that mental health was significantly and negative related to adoptive behavior of students, also there was a significantly and positive related between defended growth mechanism to adoptive behavior of male students.
