The recent growth in the use of the railway and particularly that of in urban areas highlights the need to investigate the technical aspect of slab track. This paper discusses dynamic behaviour of slab track.The track simulation is performed by double beam. The model consists of an upper Euler–Bernoullibeam to account for the rail and a lower Euler–Bernoulli beam to account for the slab. There are two continuous resilient layers in the model: one to account for rail pads between the rails and slab andone to account for foundation underneath the slab. Two methods are used for analyzing the track behaviour:analytical method and finite element method. The Fourier transformation method is used in analytical method to calculate the close form solution of differential equation of slab track. In finite element method, the equations are solved numerically. Many factors can effect on dynamic behaviourof slab track, such as slab height, load velocity, axle load and the foundation stiffness. In order to determine the effects of these parameters on dynamic behaviour of slab track, a sensitivity analysis is performed and the results are discussed.
