Phosphonium salts have the general formula R۴P+X- and are derived from the sub-ion phosphonium tetrahedral(pH+۴), such as phosphonium iodide[p(CH۳)+۴]-. Generally, phosphonium is attributed to an organic derivative, such as tetra-phenyl phosphonium chloride and tetra tetra-methyl phosphonium iodide. In this project, phosphonium compounds [C۶H۵(CH۲pph۳Br)], {C۶H۴ -۱- (CH۲Cl) -۳- (CH۲pph۳Cl)} and palladium complexes, [C۶H۵ (CH۲pph۳)]۲[pd۲cl۲Br۲], [C۶H۴ -۱- CH۲Cl) -۳-(CH۲pph۳)]۲ [pd۲Cl۶] were prepared and characterized. Phosphonium salts was prepared from the reaction of ۱,۳-bis (chloro-methyl)-benzene and tri-phenyl phosphine. Then, through the reaction between phosphonium compounds andNa۲[pd۲Cl۶] final complexes were prepared. Next phosphonium salt was prepared from the reaction between benzyl bromide and tri-phenyl phosphine.
