Abstract:
In this paper, buckling of multilayered composite cylinder which volume fraction of fibervaries according to power law in longitudinal direction, due to temperature change hasbeen studied. Rule of mixture model and reverse of that are employed to represent elasticand physical properties of this fiber reinforced functionally graded composite. Straindisplacement relations employed are based on Reissner-Naghdi-Berry’s shell theory. Thedisplacement finite element model of the equilibrium equations is derived by writingweak form of them. The Lagrangian shape function for in-plane displacements andHermitian shape function for displacement in normal direction to the surface of mid-planeby defining a conformal quadrilateral element are used. The results show that byappropriate grading volume fraction of fiber in longitudinal direction, that is changing thepower of distribution, the critical temperature can be increased in comparison withtraditional composite in which volume fraction of fiber does not vary.
