Spirulina platensis is a blue-green alga that has been used for various purposes such as humanand animal nutrition, wastewater treatment, and biofuel production. In recent years, there hasbeen an increasing interest in using S. platensis as an organic agricultural fertilizer due to its highcontent of essential nutrients, growth-promoting substances, and beneficial microorganisms. Thisreview summarizes the current knowledge on the use of S. platensis as an organic agriculturalfertilizer, including its effects on plant growth, soil properties, and crop yield. The paper alsodiscusses the potential benefits and limitations of using S. platensis as a fertilizer, as well asfuture research directions.
