Abstract:

Non-uniformity in environmental conditions can affect the occupants’ satisfaction. However, under non-uniform conditions, overall thermal comfort depends on local thermal sensation. This complexity has led researchers to develop several multi-segmental models to predict the local temperature and thermal sensation. The multi-segmental and individualized thermoregulatory bioheat (IMTB) is one of these models. The IMTB is a multi-segmental model dividing body into ۱۷ segments. Additionally, the IMTB model can evaluate the effects of individual parameters (such as height, weight, gender, and age) on physiological parameters and active/passive systems. In this paper, the performance of the IMTB model in estimating local skin temperature in non-uniform environments was assessed. The results indicated that the new model agreed well with empirical data and the average mean absolute error of local skin temperature (MAE) was ۰.۲۷ and ۰.۵۱℃ under steady-state and transient conditions, respectively.
