Aromatic hetrocycles are valuable synthetic templates for the preparation of new compounds with specific biological or material properties . This research work describes the bromination of (3-(3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl) isoxazol-5-yl) methylacetate with Br(2) in CH(2)Cl(2) that leads to the production (3-(2-bromo-3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl) isoxazol-5-yl) methylacetate as a new compound of isoxazole family.The structure of all the synthesized compounds was characterized and confirmed by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy techniques.
