Abstract:
The silver nanoparticles were synthesized by the reduction of AgNO(3) with N(2)H(5)OH in the water-in-oil microemulsion system of water/cetyl-trimethyl-amonium bromide (CTAB), n-butanol/ isooctane. The reaction progress was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy and the effect of different parameters such as type of the oil phase and water to CTAB molar ratio (w) on the size of nanoparticles was followed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Synthesized nanoparticles were stable for about two months without any precipitation.
