Abstract:

The new molybdenum peroxo nanohybrids based on pyridinecarboxylic acid were synthesized by employing one-pot procedure in aqueous media. The prepared complexes were used as catalysts for the epoxidation of different alkenes in a mild condition. Results showed that these nanohybrides have significant potential as oxidants in oxygen atom transfer reactions. This reagent oxidized alkenes to epoxides with high conversions and selectivity. Comparison of the relative reactivity of these hybrids showed that the electronic nature of organic ligands influence the rate and activity of oxygen transfer reaction.
