The electrochemical behavior of a modified carbon paste electrode with nanoparticle CuFe(2)O(4) was investigated as a new sensor for L- cysteine. The Britton-Robinson buffer with pH 3, 8% modifier in electrode, potential scanning rate of 30 mV s-1 was used as the optimum condition for the determination of cysteine using modified carbon paste electrode with CuFe(2)O(4). Under these optimum conditions, the resulting electrode demonstrated linear response with cysteine concentration in the range of 0.5-13 μM.
