Geopolymer concrete, due to the use of pozzolanic materials and industrial wastes such as fly ash, blast furnace slag, and metakaolin, is recognized as a sustainable and durable alternative to traditional concrete. This type of concrete helps reduce CO۲ emissions and industrial waste. Pervious geopolymer concrete, due to its unique structure, allows air and water to pass through it. This feature makes it a suitable choice for applications such as sidewalks, parking lots, and surfaces requiring surface water management. The main advantages of this type of concrete include reducing surface runoff, increasing water infiltration into the ground, reducing flood risk, and mitigating urban heat island effects. Additionally, the production of pervious geopolymer concrete, considering the properties of geopolymer concrete, also reduces the environmental impact of concrete production.
