Abstract:

A green roof is a roof that is covered with growing culture. The limited energy resources and the growing trend of energy consumption and its adverse effects and irreparable damage on the natural environment are among the concerns of cities, and one of the suggested solutions to reduce the energy consumption of buildings is the construction of rooftop gardens. Roof garden or green roof, if designed and implemented correctly and taking into account climatic considerations, can greatly help in reducing energy consumption. Creating greenness in the roof space by preventing the radiation of solar rays and surface evaporation and transpiration have a positive effect on cooling the climate of the city and the region and the air inside the building that are placed on it. This cooling is done by reducing the thermal fluctuations on the external surface of the roof and increasing the thermal capacity of the roof, which keeps the space under the roof cool in the summer and increases the amount of heating during the winter. In this research, after knowing the green roof, with the hypothesis that ”it is possible to increase its thermal performance by designing a detail and adding a layer to the green roof detail”, the heat transfer analysis of the components of the green roof has been analyzed. Then, in order to evaluate the reduction of heat transfer, the optimal green roof detail to reduce heat transfer was compared with conventional green roofs, and it was observed that the defined detail has a more favorable effect in reducing heat transfer and can be used for buildings with zero energy consumption. In the conducted research, the research method in the parts related to the benefits and standard and thermal performance of the green roof is descriptive with a qualitative approach, but in the parts related to the optimal detailed evaluation, the quantitative approach and analytical method is used, and Ansys software is used.
