Abstract:

Mineral exploration, particularly geochemical exploration, involves identifying promising areas for preparing geochemical anomaly maps, which use various statistical methods. These methods can range from simple, based on statistical parameters, to complex, taking into account spatial structures. Anomaly isolation and identification of promising areas are categorized into non-structural and structural methods. The choice of method for anomaly separation from context depends on factors such as the sampling network and deposit type. In a study on copper, the above methods were used to prepare the geochemical anomaly map, with the best results obtained from it. Central Iran's Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc (UDMA) is an important geological region with numerous porphyry copper deposits, including Zafarghand, known for its copper mineralization. The geological timeline of the area includes various events such as Miocene magmatic activities, hydrothermal alterations, and several structures containing copper. This study aims to investigate geochemical anomaly separation using the C-N and N-S methods at the Zafarghand porphyry system in Central Iran.
