Abstract:
Permanent magnet direct current brushless motors (BLDC-PM) are currently widely used in many industrial applications. Due to their small size and high torque density, these motors are used in high-performance systems such as the propulsion of small satellites. In this type of motors, the brush and commutator are removed, this reduces losses and requires less maintenance. BLDC motors are highly efficient and are used for systems such as robotics and remote control equipment The disadvantage of this type of motors is the high cost of the permanent magnet. By using smart algorithms, these costs can be reduced and other characteristics of the motor such as volume, efficiency, power losses and the cost of the rotor can be improved. The engine under investigation is an internal rotor and the magnet is mounted on the rotor surface, and the cuckoo optimization algorithm was used to optimize the characteristics of a sample engine and compared with several other optimization algorithms.
