خلاصه مقاله:
This article focused on Neurovascular health and Oral Care as two interrelated components of health with the influence running in both directions. Therefore the study compiles existing literature reviews to explain the relationship between oral hygiene, neurovascular disorders like stroke, and overall health outcomes. The research was conducted by using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science indexing databases and was limited to articles published in recent years and peer-reviewed sources. This systematic literature search was performed for studies focusing on oral health interventions in stroke patients, the effects of smoking on oral health, and the association between oral health and quality of life in the elderly. By focusing on all of these aspects, this research wants to offer a comprehensive view of the relationship that exists between oral and neurovascular conditions. According to the findings, post-stroke health complications are worsened by poor oral hygiene, and the provision of specific oral care will benefit stroke patients by enhancing oral hygiene. In addition, this study emphasizes the significance of oral hygiene as an effective measure that can help to prevent neurovascular disorders. This review presents the importance of generalized and integrated admission for multimodal neurovascular and oral health. Additionally, the inclusion of dental specialists in the stroke rehabilitation teams could be beneficial for the enhancement and improvement of patients’ health.
