خلاصه مقاله:
Background: The field of dentistry is continuously evolving, with significant advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases. Technological innovations and improved understanding of disease mechanisms have led to more effective and less invasive treatment options. Objective: This study aims to review recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases, highlighting key technological advancements and their impact on patient outcomes. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted, focusing on peer-reviewed articles, clinical trials, and review papers published from ۲۰۱۰ to ۲۰۲۳. The review included studies on new diagnostic tools, treatment methodologies, and technologies such as digital imaging, laser therapy, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine. Results: Recent diagnostic advancements in dentistry have significantly enhanced precision and patient care through digital imaging technologies such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and digital intraoral scanners. These tools provide detailed visualizations of dental structures, improving the detection of conditions like caries and periodontal diseases. In addition, emerging techniques in salivary diagnostics enable non-invasive detection of biomarkers associated with oral cancers, systemic diseases, and inflammatory conditions, facilitating early diagnosis and monitoring. On the treatment front, the expansion of laser therapy offers minimally invasive options for procedures including cavity preparation, soft tissue surgeries, and periodontal therapy, thereby reducing patient discomfort and accelerating healing. Advances in biomaterials have yielded superior dental restoratives and implants that mimic natural tooth structures, while regenerative medicine approaches using stem cells and growth factors show promise for tissue engineering and repairing damaged oral tissues. Furthermore, tele-dentistry has seen increased adoption, enabling remote consultations, diagnostics, and follow-ups, which enhances access to dental care, particularly in underserved areas, and promotes greater patient engagement in treatment plans. Conclusion: Recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases have significantly improved patient care. Advanced diagnostic tools such as digital imaging and salivary diagnostics enhance early detection and precise treatment planning. Innovations in laser therapy, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and tele-dentistry offer minimally invasive and effective treatment options, leading to better patient outcomes and overall oral health. Continued research and technological advancements are expected to further revolutionize the field, making dental care more efficient and accessible
