Abstract:
Cancer is one of the most common the leading causes ofmortality in the world. Despite the various treatment methods, the metastatic form of various tumors is still considered as a crucial challenge. Plasma therapy has great potential to improve treatment outcomes in cancer patients. Considering the role of plasma on tumor cells, the aim of this study is evaluate the anti-metastatic potency of direct cold atmospheric plasma against metastatic cancer cells. The metastatic cancer cells were treated with direct plasma for ۲۴ hours. The viability was evaluated by MTT assay and the anti-metastatic potential of direct plasma was assessed by Scratch assay. It was found that direct plasma significantly inhibited metastatic cancer cell survival which was complemented with a persuasive suppression on metastasis. Taken together, it demonstrated that direct plasma exposure revealed an anti-metastatic effect, suggesting that it may be considered as a potential candidate.
