Abstract:

In the textile industry, globalization is intensifying, meaning that many companies are either sourcing their parts abroad or moving production to countries with lower labor costs. This issue is further complicated by the unpredictable change of the global fashion market, which leads to rapid changes in customer demand for quantity and style. The integration of IoT in knitting and spinning machines can help to optimize the process and reduce the defects of production and devices. Monitoring intermediate processes and automatic data collection in this area can help increase quality and production, reduce manpower, time, machine downtime and costs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the different Internet of Things architectures and the characteristics of the textile industry to design feature diagrams, choose the best documentation approach to model the various smart textile requirements by designing a suitable IoT architecture and to make an informed decision about its potential value. To achieve this goal, a suitable IoT architecture for this industry is designed to support automatic data collection and processing, monitoring, decision-making, textile operation management and documentation. The present research is practical in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of method, which was conducted by interviewing experts in the field of information technology in the form of a snowball sampling until theoretical saturation.
