Abstract:
Tokyo Metropolitan District has faced high risks of flooding, especially inundation disasters because concentrating population in urban areas and expanding of urbanization exceed progressively beyond flood control Facilities. This paper mentioned details of function and effectiveness of comprehensive flood control system and underground rivers in Tokyo Metropolitan area thought projects in Kanda River and Metropolitan Outfall Channels.
