Abstract:
Nowadays, electrification of railway tracks is the preeminent solution for developing railway network capacity. Advantages of this solution like shorter traveling time, less maintenance costs and etc., are obviously cleared. In the other hand, electrification of existing railway track requires studying effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) in vital railway subsystem such as signalling. The objective of this paper, is introducing optimized finite element technique for studying EMI and relative phenomena's in high speed electrified railways. This analysis provides advices for the level of mitigation required, in order to ensure a safe and reliable operation of the system. Also, study results are verified based on field measurements which performed at an operational Iranian electrified railway (Tabriz- Jolfa track).
