خلاصه مقاله:
This paper presents a formalized approach to seismic design characterized as a sequential decisionmakingapproach, leveraging multi-fidelity (MF) models. The methodology commences with lowfidelitycomputational models to explore a wide-ranging tradespace, progressively advancing towardshigher fidelity models as the design space constricts. At each step, the designer is allowed to exercisediscretion in selecting designs as best (optimal) and determining the subsequent level of a higherfidelity model. The ultimate aim is to achieve the highest fidelity while preserving the optimal designin a computationally cost-efficient manner through the application of dynamic programming. Thispaper also includes an illustrative case study, wherein this approach is applied to the seismic design ofreinforced concrete frames and self-centering rocking braced frames (RBFs).
