Abstract:

This paper evaluates the effect of shear-flexural interaction (SFI) on the performance of reinforcedconcrete dual high-rise buildings. Buildings of three heights (۲۰, ۲۵, and ۳۰-story) are considered. Two approaches to modeling the shear walls (with and without SFI) in structural analyses of buildingsare compared. The set of ground motion records from the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) P۶۹۵ is used to perform incremental dynamic analysis for conducting a comprehensiveassessment of the behavior of structures. Collapse risk is measured using the seismic hazard and thestructure's collapse fragility. In addition, the collapse performance of the structures is evaluated usingFEMA P۶۹۵ procedure. The results show that the seismic performance and collapse risk of thestructures are affected by the SFI behavior
