Abstract:

In the present study a simplified isotropic damage model is presented to investigate the nonlinearseismic behavior of Morrow Point Arch dam. The utilized model is based on the Lubliner stressfunction, which, although simple and computationally efficient, showed good accuracy compared toprevious studies. The HHT time integration method is employed in the dynamic formulation.Assuming a rigid foundation, the water-structure interaction is incorporated using modifiedWestergaard's method. The model successfully predicted crack propagation through the dam bodywhile maintaining a low processing time
