Abstract:

Because of its role in the energy market, the Strait of Hormuz sees the traffic of many ships every day. One of the important issues in the Strait of Hormuz is the optimization of communication between ships in the Strait of Hormuz. There are various tools to optimize communication between ships, one of the most important of which is MANET networks. In this study, by using Analytical Modeling and simulation, the performance and optimization of different routing protocols in MANET networks have been investigated, taking into account the criteria of the number of ships in the network, the speed of ships, and their movement angle. For this purpose, three protocols Epidemic Routing (ER) Protocol, Randomized Rumor Spreading (RRS), and Spray and Wait (S&W) and three connecting technologies, namely Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, VHF, and Long Range Wireless Fidelity have been used. The results of the research data analysis showed RRS with broadcasting works better when there is a single source. Also, ER offers a standard performance in all scenarios. The results of this study also show that the S&W routing protocol performs better when there is only one destination.
