Abstract:

In this study, special attention has been paid to mechanical properties and creep behavior of Al۱۰۵۰/MgAZ۳۱Blaminated metal composite. This composite consists of ۲mm Aluminum and ۱.۵mm Magnesium sheet which has beenpreheated at ۴۰۰°C for ۲۰ minutes before single pass rolling performed with the reduction ratio of ۴۰% to fabricatebilayer composite; Then uniaxial tensile test and creep tensile test at ۳۰MPa loading and temperature of ۲۲۵°C werecarried out. The results indicate that bimetal has ultimate tensile strength of ۱۱۰MPa, elongation of ۱۰.۳% and Workof fracture ۶.۸۳ MJ/m۳. Further, the existence of two drops in the stress–strain curve was noticeable that the first stressdrop was associated with magnesium fracture. Immediately, after the fracture of the magnesium, the bonding wasseparated, and eventually, the fracture of the aluminum occurred; in addition, under creep loading, ۱۰.۷۴ μm diffusionlayer has been formed which after ۴.۱۸ hour and ۹.۶۵% elongation has failed.
