Abstract:
Examining an alkaline technique for the handling of waste leather that has been chromium-tanned allows for the life cycle assessment of a crucial material in systematic thermal hydrolysis. This technique has a big influence on pollution reduction in chrome recycling process. An LCA was carried out in this study to produce ۱ kg of chromium from solid wastes that had been leather-tanned. This approach was used to assess the relative environmental effects and contrast them with source-based chromium. In addition to recycling process the proposed method fertilizer is produced as a byproduct. For the evolution of proposed LCA, IMPACT World + Midpoint V۱.۰۱ method is used. The findings demonstrated that, across all categories, chrome recycling is significantly less polluting than chrome manufacture. Furthermore, among these indicators, human toxicity cancer, which has improved by ۹۹.۱۴%, and the mineral resource use index, which has improved by ۹۴.۱۱% in comparison with traditional chrome production process.
