Abstract:
The essential oil of the aerial parts of Dionysia revoluta Boiss., was extracted using hydrodistillation method and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Nineteencompounds were identified in the essential oil of the plant, representing 86.5% of the total oil. The main constituents were thymol (32.6%), n-pentadecane(8.1%), -bisabolone oxide (7.5%), (E)-chalcone (5.3%) and n-tetradecane (5.2%). Oxygenated monoterpenes (34.2%) were the major group of compounds in the essential oil.
