For the first time kinetics studies were made of the reaction between ٤-nitrobenzaldehyde ٢, malononitrile ٣ and dimedone ١ compound in presence of sodium acetate as a catalyst. Todetermine the kinetic parameters of the reactions they were monitored by UV/Vis spectrophotometery. The second order fits were automatically drawn by the software associated with a Cary UV/Vis spectrophotometer model Bio-٣٠٠ at appropriatewavelength. The values of the second order rate constant (
