Damper winding plays important roles in Salient Pole Synchronous Generator, such as reduction of parasitic air-gap magnetic field harmonics, suppression of the negative-sequence field at unbalanced load and so on which grant certain priviledges to damper bar current analysis. Therefore, it would be important to study damper cage design process on damper winding current and losses. The magnitude of this losses can vary from zero to as much as half of total no-load core loss. In this paper we modeled the 250MW generator of Upper Gotvand power house in industrial scales in Khuzestan,Iran under prementionedcircumstances.
