خلاصه مقاله:
Soil stabilization by adding materials such as cement, lime, bitumen etc. is one of effective methods for improving the geotechnical properties of soils which has been applied for many years now. Nanoparticles are one of the newest additives and many studies about using nanoparticles in soil improvement has been done but less attention has been paid on silt soils stabilization with nano-clay. Basically, silt soil in the vicinity of moisture and saturation will highly lose resistance since silts are not easily compressible. Due to the mentioned fact stabilization of these soils seems to be of essential importance for the sake of making proper substrate of civil projects. The present paper reviews the application of nanotechnology in geotechnical engineering. In this study some laboratory samples with different percentages of silt soils and nano-clay have been tested for analyzing the geotechnical properties improvements of stabilized silt. The results indicated that the use of nano-clay in silt stabilization will contribute to the improvement of geotechnical properties of these soils
