Abstract:
To extract the mechanical properties of materials used in structures, methods based on small specimen testing have attracted much attention due to the limitations in sampling and the need to avoid component destruction. One of the prominent methods in this field is the small punch test (SPT). In this study, the response of the small punch test specimen to fatigue loading is examined, and SS۳۰۴ steel samples were tested under various loading levels. The results indicate similarities between the behavior of this test and standard axial fatigue tests. Therefore, it is expected that the small punch fatigue test (SPF) can be an efficient method for evaluating the fatigue properties of materials used in structures.
