Abstract:

Metal-organic frameworks as potential adsorbents for removing pollutants from contaminated water have been attracting increasing attention. The prepared metal-organic framework (MIL-۵۳(Fe)) was characterized using instrumental analytical techniques. Adsorption performance of the sample for the removal of Direct Red ۲۳ (DR۲۳) and Direct Red ۸۰ (DR۸۰) dyes from aqueous solutions was thoroughly studied. The effect of different reaction parameters such as pH, dye concentration, contact time, and adsorbent dosage was evaluated. The experimental data were simulated using kinetic and isotherm models. The high adsorption capacity, fast-rate kinetics, and great reusability recommended MIL-۵۳(Fe) as a potential adsorbent for the efficient treatment of water contaminated with organics.
