Abstract:
This paper examines the important technical issues concerning island microgrids with low power cost and voltage fluctuation through the utilization of remote optimized DERs including wind turbine (WT), photovoltaic (PV) system, energy storage system (ESS), and electrical vehicles (EVs). Island microgrids which are basically connected to the main electricity grid are usually characterized by low system efficiency accompanied with fluctuating voltage levels as a result of persistent variability in both generation and demand. To meet these challenges, the research provides novel advanced energy management techniques such as collaborative distributed model predictive control. These methods are arranged for dematerialization of cost losses as well as improvement of the voltage regulation for the confident functioning of microgrid. The analysis confirms that the proposed system enhances control performance by employing new and advanced control strategies and energy storage to regulate demand profiles and manage uncertainty in renewable sources. The findings presented in this paper offer strong proof of operational advantages and reliability upgrades which can be reached by optimal siting of DER in addition to real-time management consistent with variant power profiles. It augments the current body of information relative to the conceptual and actual arrangements of island microgrids together with adding to the main insights providing specifics concerning the shift in sweeping energy systems. It is for this reason that meaningful frameworks must be built which are strong enough to address problems relating to DERs and EVs, and improve the stability of the energy system.
