Abstract:

As the saying goes, variety is the spice of life. Man sees to hate monotony, absurdity, and overused cliches in almost all things and in cases it may be a cause of committing suicide in some areas of the globe. Rationality, then, dictates that we had better see if it is wise to stick to one or almost a superior criterion in management of urban planning and development. The dominant criterion can be some taboo factor in some societies whose negligence can bring individuals at least denigrate among other things if not say life threatening consequence in some societies. Such a criterion from which negligence can be hard or even impossible might be some religious concept or so-called sacred entity in an area. However, the sound framework of thought today appears to be the will of the people in modern societies as it has been the case in the types of dishes people have nowadays or the new sports, movies, and even cartoons for kids. This short paper touches on the issue of monotony or cliches in the types of structures used in urban areas and urban development. The limited scope and findings on the viewpoints of the participants appear to support the dislike of the participants of cliché constituents in urban constructions.
