Abstract:
Cogeneration systems are increasingly popular due to their high efficiency. By simultaneously producing multiple forms of energy, these systems reduce overall energy consumption and, consequently, fossil fuel use worldwide. This study introduces and examines a compressed air energy storage (CAES) system integrated with combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP). The system features an absorption cooling unit and a heating subsystem. The system was evaluated through a comprehensive thermodynamic and thermo-economic analysis, focusing on key output parameters. A case study and sensitivity analysis were also performed to assess performance in a specific context and under varying conditions, respectively. The system achieved an energy efficiency of ۲۶% and an exergy efficiency of ۱۲%, with a total cost of $۰.۲۰۴/GJ. This research offers a potential new methodology for enhancing the thermodynamic performance of multi-generation systems.
