خلاصه مقاله:
This study was conducted to compare Obeyd Zakani`s The Mice and The cat poem with its two English translated versions by Bo Utas as a non-native translator and Abas Arianpour Kashani as a native one based on Lefevere`s seven methods for translating poetry and to examine how the socio-political aspects of this satirical poem are conveyed through translation processes. In this direction, some verses were selected and compared with the two translations from the viewpoint of semantic and poetic structures in textual level and it was discussed whether or not in discoursal level the socio-political aspects could be transferred. Data analysis indicated that Bo Utas transferred the meanings literally and did not consider poetic structure and Arianpour transferred the meanings by use of a combination of literal, free verse and interpretation methods and only created the rhyme of poem
