Facility location problem: An integration of MCDM and voting-DEA

The selection of a facility location among alternative locations is a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem including both quantitative and qualitative criteria. This paper proposes an integrated approach using voting data envelopment analysis (DEA) model and an MCDM method to select facility location. Since the evaluation result is often greatly affected by the weights used in the evaluation process, a new voting method is proposed in this study to determine the appropriate criteria weights. Then, an MCDM method is proposed to help decision makers (DMs) carry out analysis and comparisons in ranking their alternatives. Finally, a case study is given to illustrate applicability of the proposed approach.
