The main objective of the study was toexamine the application of the AnaerobicDigestion Model No. 1 (ADM1) developed bythe IWA task group for mathematical modelingof anaerobic process. The characterization ofOFMSW for Tehran from Abali WasteProcessing Site, was analyzed and used asdigester substrates. In addition, the variability ofcharacterization was examined and use fordynamic input of model. The average biogas yield from simulations of Tehran OFMSW wasaround 0.49 Nm3/d per m3 for assumedoperational situation and the average methanefraction was 53%. The changes in compositionof OFMSW feedstock and also cation, causedvariation in biogas output. Results showed thathigh cation substrate act more efficiencies fromlow cation condition.
